PM mechanical junk basket engages and retrieves rock bit cones, bearings, broken slips, bits of wireline, various hand tool, slivers, debris from twisted-off drill string off the bottom hole.
The mechanical junk basket consists of a barrel, made of high-strength alloy steel, sub, two mechanical finger-type catchers and washover mill shoe.
The catchers are double-decked in the lower part of the body and capable of rotation. The catchers are furnished with alternating long and short fingers, drawn to the center. The catcher acts as a check valve, letting the core and small metal debris inside the catcher by deflecting spring-driven pivoted fingers upwards and blocking their way out of the catcher.
The junk basket is available in right- and left-hand configurations, depending on direction of the thread connection.
